  • the indigenous Ayoreo tribe discovered and prized ametrine pre 1600’s
  • When an amethyst is heated or parts of an amethyst naturally receive more heat than the rest of the stone, it will turn to citrine in that area.
  • Ametrine was first introduced to the wider world in the 17th century through a Spanish conquistador named Don Felipe de Urriola y Goitia, who received the stone as a wedding gift when he married into the tribe byway of the princess
