Actinolite is an asbestos-based crystal that is fibrous and fragile in nature. Its plethora of properties makes its dangerous nature an afterthought to most crystal enthusiasts and lovers. The dark green color comes from pleochroism, which means the color changes when the light enters the crystal from different directions. It tends to have Tremolite inclusions and is in the inosilicate family.
